Cancer Support
|
Being diagnosed with cancer has to be one of the scariest things that can ever happen to you. Think about it! I know, because it happened to me. I don't want to frighten you, but according to the government's national statistics online one in three of us will develop cancer during our lives. The diagnosis and treatment often mean that you are unable to work; that you have to make endless journeys to hospitals when you feel at your weakest and most vulnerable - physically and mentally, and least able to deal with public transport or function without help; that you are unable to do your own cooking or housework; that you need help like you've never needed it before. MacMillan Cancer Support are there for you, in every way. These people are deserving of the utmost generosity you can summon up. Please give generously and often. Give while you are still strong and healthy, so that when you need them, they are still there looking after the people who need it. Hey - one day that might be YOU! Believe me, you will be grateful to have them. |
| Free, high quality nursing for terminally ill patients, and a lot of other help. These people are also so deserving of your generosity. One day, it might be you. Give, while you still can. | |
| Maasai Warriors running the marathon to raise between £20-60,000 to allow specialist engineers to drill deep hole bores for reservoirs. Two out of every three of their children die before the age of five from drinking contaminated water. Imagine that happening to your children. | |
| All those people rattling tins on the High Street | All those people are giving up their time for something they really believe in, whether it's Poppies, Children in Need, or any of the many, many deserving causes there are. Don't let them do this in vain. Even five or ten pence is worth having. Give, give, give. And if you don't feel able to give financially, maybe you could think of giving your time to help collect. Have the pleasure centres in YOUR brain stimulated by your own generosity! |
